TENTATIVE: AUGUST 14thth In honor of the 230th anniversary
of the Battle of Camden, experience Camden August 16, 1780 -- a town under the thumb of
British redcoats. Several British units perform Crimes & Punishment, a spellbinding skit of
events pertaining to the battle. Performances will be at 10:30, 12:00, 2:15 and 3:30.
Hands-on kids' activities, light refershments, and a riveting documentary on the Patriots' worst battle defeat complete this fun-filled
family outing. Admission is free (donations always welcome!). No pets, please.

10 am-2pm; blacksmith forge on lower
grounds
Members of The Philip Simmons Artists-Blacksmith Guild
of South Carolina will fire up Historic Camden's forge on August 7th from 10-2
pm to demonstrate the art of traditional blacksmithing. The public, especially aspiring smiths
of all ages, is encouraged to attend. Started in 1995, the Guild is named after
Philip Simmons, the famous Charleston Blacksmith, and has over 100 members from
other
states (www.simmons.abana-chapter.com).
