“Revolutionary War hero John Eager Howard: A Military Biography.” Lyceum Series Program, Book Signing & Reception. 3-5 p.m. Kershaw-Cornwallis House.
Historian Jim Piecuch, co-author of "Cool and Deliberate Courage: John Eager Howard in the American Revolution" will present a program on Revolutionary
war hero Howard, considered by some “one of the finest regimental commanders in American history.” Piecuch, Kennesaw State University assistant professor of
history, will discuss the Maryland native’s life and his “significant contributions to the success of George Washington’s army,” specifically the Southern
Campaign’s Battle of Camden, Hobkirk’s Hill, Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and Eutaw Springs.
Autographed copies of the newly published $28.95 book and author Piecuch’s other Revolutionary War books will be available at the reception following
the free lecture.SC,
